I have seen some very Creative Watermarks that people somewhat hide in their photos. Some of them almost look 3D and can contour certain aspects of the image in the photo. Can anyone help me out with the software?

What software do you have already? Many are plug-ins for Photoshop or lightroom, or other software, Others are programs on thier own.

That said I use lightroom itself. There is a watermark option built in. I have also used other free standing programs.....that I forget the name of, now that I have to type it.

Im looking for a stand alone program that will actually look professional. I have CS4 and Light room, but I just cant get anything that looks that great. Having said that, there is a lot I dont know about LR or CS4.

Read Kelby's chapter on type effects in Down and Dirty Tricks.
Chances are you'll be able to make a logo you like with the new knowledge rather than a program.

I made a brush out of my logo in CS3, it works - Google it.

I had pretty decent success with a stand-alone called Watermark Factory.

CS4 should do it easily for you.

Try the Mogrify plugin for Lightroom. Can't do those lovely embossed watermarks (I used to use Watermark Factory which was good at them, but had many other problems) but it is good for adding graphics as a watermark - with the watermark scaled to fit the image size.

I'll admit I'm relatively new to LR2, but so far love it. Do you design it int he "web" part? I figured out how to do that, but then couldn't figure out how to export it. Any advice there?

Thanks,

Not sure what you mean here?

If you mean this one:

IMAGE NOT FOUND
IMAGE IS A REDIRECT OR MISSING!
HTTP response: 403 | MIME changed to 'application/xml'

That's here:
IMAGE: http://img.skitch.com/20090729-fy7tdnh65gsjc43ik4gt8q2fjc.jpg

If you want to use the identity plate, export in the print module (print to file):

IMAGE NOT FOUND
IMAGE IS A REDIRECT OR MISSING!
HTTP response: 403 | MIME changed to 'application/xml'

Or use Mogrify (external link)by Timothy Armes (external link).

You can try this one. It doesn't make a visible watermark but a digital one. It also has a feature that will constantly search the web to see if anyone has snagged any of your photos.

It seems to have everything and is much easier then Photoshop simple watermarking and also for a serious workflow.

my friend who went to art school for graphic design swears by illustrator but from what i understand it is pretty difficult to use. He drew my watermark for me by hand and scanned it into illustrator.
