When you put somebody on the ignore list, does it also kill filter private messages from them?

No, no problem. Just an example of the anal orifice syndrome. Not worth my time, certainly not worth yours. Besides, I think the person is a fake. His first post (as in brand new user) was obviously meant to be a provocative troll, and the personal message to me was so poorly-written that it seems contrived and over-played. He's easier to ignore. I did not delete the personal message if you wish to look at it. It's the latest personal M.

One more quick question. Is it permissible to reply to a user who has sent an objectionable pm, saying something like "Please do not send me any more PM's"?

That's certainly an acceptable use of the PM system. Whether it's effective is another question. If they're deliberately baiting you, then it lets them see that they're getting to you. OTOH, it does leave them in a very precarious position if they continue to PM you and you subsequently report the offensive PMs to the moderators, since it leaves clear evidence that they continued messaging in defiance of your wishes, which amounts to stalking.
