Jul 22, 2009 07:33 | #4 Thanks folks. The hardest part for me was getting the shadow under the car to look right. If anyone knows of an online tutorial that might help, I would appreciate the link. FWIW it didn't scream out to me as being out of place. I guess it would be more critical the larger the size the image is reproduced or displayed at.

Jul 22, 2009 13:05 | #6 Here's what I'm working on now. Got the scoop idea from PhotoGuy. Waiting now on someone to id the year for me. This time, I masked out the shadow with the car. Much easier than cutting out the car and then trying to create a realistic shadow.

Jul 22, 2009 13:56 | #8 Thanks anthony. Yeah, I've got to center everything before I crop. I've not decided whether to print 13x19 or 11x14 yet. I'll make that decision once Iget a year for this beauty. Artist tools: Lumix FZ1000 (Canon 60D, 28/2.8, 10-22mm, Tamron 28-300mm VC ALL NOW FOR SALE - REASONABLE OFFER)

Jul 25, 2009 05:21 | #10 Dwaine, actually it is a 1971. I tracked it down via the tail lights. They were one of the few distinctive features of the '70-'72 models. What made it hard was the fact that the side markers and other identifying areas had been removed. But thanks for the reply. PhotosGuy Cream of the Crop, R.I.P. More info | Jul 26, 2009 09:46 | #11 That looks pretty good. Crop some off the bottom. The longer the frame, the longer the car will look. If you print it, use a mat to make up the difference in size. The hardest part for me was getting the shadow under the car to look right. If anyone knows of an online tutorial that might help, I would appreciate the link. Here's an idea!!! Look at the original shadow under it for a start? The shadow in #1 is too small & in #2 it's too hard. FrankC - 20D, RAW, Manual everything...

Jul 26, 2009 19:01 | #12 Frank, thanks a bunch for the tips. I love your posts and your tutorials. You 'da man' when it comes to car images. I've been shooting for over 50 years but just recently started shooting cars. Wow! I figured they would be easy after all the years of wranglings people and pets but dang if they aren't just as hard. You just don't get that many reflections and/or sun glare from a family setting. Artist tools: Lumix FZ1000 (Canon 60D, 28/2.8, 10-22mm, Tamron 28-300mm VC ALL NOW FOR SALE - REASONABLE OFFER)
