At first I thought #3 was weird with the coach's head on the bottom but after looking at it a bit I guess it shows the height the girl is getting on a dismount or release (whatever its called, since I've never watched a second of gymnastics that's not the Olympics on TV :D)

I wonder if you removed the lights from behind the devider, would it be especially noticeable?

+1 I think I need one more stop of ISO ability and just a slightly larger file size.

Great shots, thanks for sharing

I left the coach in for the perspective as you pointed out. I have several without and it somehow does not have the same impact of speed and height. Cloning out some highlights isn't a bad idea.

One more stop with current Canon lenses would be nice wouldn't it? I keep looking at Nikon, but their lenses don't get me too excited based on what I shoot right now.

Thanks for asking..... She is doing better. Surgery was on the 7th...two weeks ago to the day. Re-attached the MPFL. No hamstring grafting. Knee cap shows some cartridge damage but we won't know the extent until she is up and moving again.

We agreed to let her compete at Nationals on Bars & Beam. She managed to medal in both despite 4 weeks of no practice. First pic of the post is her on bars....now she looks like this:

6:00pm the day of the surgery (I am convinced she would smile for my camera despite near death circumstances) She was in some serious pain.....

A few days later as things improve......
