John, I don't get to see these birds on this side of the pond, but have seen them posted before. It looks like a juvie Black Bird, the kind the Brits have. Related to our Robin. He's a Thrush. :)

If that's a blackbird in Qatar, then it's outside the usual range.

It would help if we knew the location of the bird when the photo was taken.

HI to all
Thanks for the ID help and the related links. Very sorry that I forgot to tell you that I'm currently on vacation in Europe and not posting from Arabia but I will be back there soon. The shot was taken in Czech Republic.

During my vacation I have enjoyed some great bird sightings including Black Stork, White Stork, Spoonbill, Yellowhammer, Goldfinch, Red back Shrike, Linnet, Blue tit, Spotted Flycatcher, Song thrush, Mistle thrush, Black redstart, lots of Geese/Ducks, kestrel with managed some reasonable photo results.
Plus and one Green Woodpeeker and Lapwing but poor quality photo records only. I also spent a lot of time trying to photo a family Kingfishers but so far they are just to fast for me

John
