Yes, this is correct. Also I seem to have no high-speed sync. The pin geometry is different from my 580EXII hot shoe.

The manual (Jan 1 2010) refers to "Special Use" transmitters for Nikon and Canon that are required for wake up and HSS functionality.

I am in communication with the seller 528express for a replacement. The seller is in Hong Kong but the return address on the package is Edison NJ. I wonder if the person in NJ just put the wrong items in the package....

my 580exii wakes up but there certainly is no support for HSS - i've never even seen these advertised to support HSS. as far as i know, only radiopoppers and pw flex's support hss. i must also have a different manual as i just checked mine and it doesn't mention HSS. just says with canon or nikon you can sync up to 1/250th.

well it depends on the camera. what camera do you have? i've tried with an xsi/450d and a 40d...

xsi/450d - max sync 1/200th (also cameras advertised sync speed)

  • 580exii
  • lumopro lp120
40d - max sync 1/250th (also cameras advertised sync speed)
  • 580ex

The supplier sent an incompatible transmitter designed for Nikon. They have offered a refund.

yup, included! may have to pay taxes but they sent mine as a "gift" as I recall so no other payments to be made.
