I never used any remotely controlled flash before. Only one external flash on my Tli (500D) camera. Now I have new YN-468 and semi-functioning Nissin Di622 (I could still trigger if it is on camera but only in manual mode.)
Is here any possible combination with YN-602 and my two flashes, to have YN-468 on camera and Di622 as remote?

I do not have AB strobes but I used mine with speedlites and studio strobes at the same time with no problem. I don't know any reason why you cannot do the same with AB's.

Yes you can use the receiver with any flash that as a sync plug (and the AB has one). You just need to use the proper cable that is usually supplied with the receiver (but I've seen some kits on eBay were some of the cables were removed from the pack and sold separately).

Has anyone used the RF-602 system with the Paul Buff White lightning strobes? I was curious if they would work and if I needed extra cables to connect them. This is the first wireless trigger system I have looked at, and did not know what all it involves.

Yes I have, it's working fine. Just use the 1/4 jack

thanks for that. I appreciate it.

I have another lighting newb question.... are there no triggers made out there that allow the use of E-TTL on Canon flashes when being used off camera? I assume E-TTL works when using a Canon flash on board the camera, yes?

There are, depends on how much money you want to spend on them.

A lot - PocketWizards, MiniTT1/FlexTT5 - http://www.pocketwizard.com …r_receiver/flextt5-canon/ (external link)
Still a lot - Radio Poppers http://radiopopper.com/products/ (external link)
A little less but still a lot compared to RF-602 - http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.35891 (external link)

Or you could go the official way and get the ST-E2 commander if you don't have a camera that can trigger flashes externally (e.g. 7D can, T2i/550D can't) and you do have Canon flashes

(full disclosure: I have no personal experience with any of these triggers)

I personally opted for a 10m TTL cable for those occasions where I need TTL, e.g. when you don't have the time/too lazy to set up the shot in manual or you need high speed sync. Yes, limited to one flash pretty close to you but it's OK for what I needed so far..

thanks so much for this post. Lays out the options quote nicely. The RP and PW are just too much money to justify. I might consider the third option as i can justify that kind of money if need be. Is it possible to get an extra receiver for that one separately? Ill look at that st-e2 commander as well to use on my 5D.

Will this "New Wireless Shutter Release/Flash Trigger System RF-602" work with my new Camera? and if so, can someone give me the link to it. Thank you so very much

Just received mine today. Apart from getting the wrong shutter connector cable supplied (the c1 instead of c3 was included for my 40D even though it was a specific 40D model auction) - which I've contacted the vendor about - it all looks ok, got 2 additional receivers....but...can't test them...damn AA's are flat as Flat Stanley with lack of use over the past few months, waiting on the charger.. argh. Coffee Time.
