Uh, YEAH~~ most anything Canon, and at the least, 40D and Xt.

I did find a breakdown of an EOS-3 on that site which I have!!

there's an excellent thread here: https://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=356679

XT info appears in post #25

I haven't yet found a parts catalogue for 40D but almost certainly they're somewhere in the internet...

some fairly old canon camera stuff, canon lenses, Manfrotto "thingy", and an M5, also an M6 that has had a 720nm filter bolted onto the sensor:

Where the HECK did you find that and where can you get more of the same??

All my links are here https://www.lensrentals.com …he-lensrentals-links-list (external link)

the very bottom set ("For the electromechanically inclined") had that link and some shops that sell tools and assembly manuals for some of the lenses, although not many.

Taking apart a zoom isn't something I could tackle but doing things like changing a dented filter ring is pretty simple on most of the lenses. One other thing the parts list is great for are the rubber focus and zoom ring grips: you can get those from Canon parts if yours start getting worn out or too filthy to clean.

We've had a half-dozen 100-400s need that done from the Lensrentals.com inventory.

Well the lens has been repaired - appears they've taken all of 1.5 hrs to do the job.
"Dismantled lens to replace barrel & focusing ring. Reassembled and tested"

not sure wether to be worried about the lack of mention about realigning or not. Will do some more testing in the weekend... meanwhile I'm a happy camper.

Hi Joeseph,

Hey......what date did you send your 1-4 away to Canon and what date did you get it back ?? And without looking back through the thread, from memory it was NOT a warranty job ??

Just curious because as I mentioned earlier, my 1-4 has been away for SEVEN weeks It's only during the last two when I've been on their case 2-3 times a week, that the bloody thing has got onto the technicians table. Apparently it got couriered out todat so should see it tomorrow. They reckon that this time of year they are very busy with 'Pro' gear but I'm also picking that a warranty job is right at the bottom of the list as they aren't making any pinger from those jobs ????

Matt.

- 7D & battery grip, 40D & battery grip, 17-55mm 2.8, 100-400mm L IS USM, Manfrotto 055 & 488 RC2, 3 (55mm) ext tubes.
- Powershot A540 and underwater housing.

*checks* - it was away precisely 2 weeks. I dropped it off & picked it up though which may make things slightly different (you can stand there while they book the gear in!)
In terms of busy it's hard to tell, but I had my 1D3 checked for AF recall adjustments at the same time and I picked that up on Monday so I certainly can't complain at all about the time to repair my bits & pieces.
I did ask for the replaced bits, but appears they'd already been "recycled" already... and this waas a client-funded repair ($750 which isn't to bad really all things considered)
