But I can't seem to figure out which one that I want!

I currently have a Canon 400D and looking to upgrade my body for a main camera and have the 400D as a second camera/back-up.

I was looking at spending about £1k on one. I'd like the 5D MKII, but can't really justify the cost at the moment.

I'd like one with high ISO, or atleast something better at 1600 ISO than the 400D.

I was looking at some 5D's and also 1D MKII, any other recommendations? I saw a few 50D's pop-up, but not sure on them.

The body wll be used for mainly weddings and also car shoots and portrait's.

The 50D performs a bit better than the 400 as does the 5D and both are in your price range. The 5D is getting a bit old technology wise but still remains a solid camera especially for weddings and portraits but if you really want to make a big jump in capability, the new 5DII is the only real answer.

Awesome, thanks.

I'm really tempted by the 5D MKII, but the money is the issue. I think I'll go for the 5D MKII and then next year when a bit more money from weddings etc is coming in, then I'll get a 5D MKII, then I can set the 400D aside and have both 5D's.

Sounds like a plan.
