G2 w/loose hot shoe

Anyone experience a G series with a loose hot shoe. I use a Canon 420ex flash, which I think helps the shoe get loose. Camera is a bit top heavy with it.

Suddenly the camara is not putting out enough light, its is sync'd, but the power is diminished causing poor exposures. Loose shoe may cause intermittent connection inside camera. Is it possible to tighten it up inside the camera?

i'd suggest taking it to a shop if you dont have experience opening up your camera. it could void your warranty if you do it on your own.
