Woot!! Well done, man....

I've had bad news in that the buyer for my flat has now pulled out after a negative survey. So, I'm not quite sure what to do next.

I'm in a bit of a pickle, that's for sure.

That's tough, Pete. Hope it's not anything too serious and that you can either get it sorted quickly/cheaply or that you can find a buyer who doesn't find it a problem.

Great shot, Jamie... The sky looks a little washed out though (one of the downsides of exposing for what's important, I guess).

How about a gradient on the sky to darken it up a bit, help out with increasing the drama of the shot.

That's what I thought about the sky, but Pete's come up with an idea, and a quick tutorial, of how to fix it - much better on that side than I could have done. Nice setup, though, Jamie. It just does need that sky to be boosted a bit.

Not as fond of the last shot, Jamie. Too much to distract from the car. The gradient is nice, but I think the best option is darkening the sky.

Good to see no one burned up a keyboard this weekend (or bashed one too hard with their heads). There were some busy folks at the Red Ringed Ranch. . .

Hey chief

Hey Jamie.

I'm in a moderate state of shock. I just got back from the 'Collision Center' getting the estimate on our weekend parking lot debacle. He suspects he'll have to replace the entire door and very likely, the door pillar. It doesn't really look that bad, but according to the estimator, there's an intrusion protection beam in the door. While it keeps the door fairly straight (very little visible damage ), it transfers the forces of the collision through the hinges and door post. If he has to replace the door post, the bill could run into the several thousands of dollars. He won't really know till he gets it apart and takes some measurements.

The kid's mother says she's gong to pay for it, but when she gets this news, I suspect that could all change.

Now, I get to fix supper.

Pete -- hope you get things sorted. I know that on our first home purchase, the inspector probably missed some things that would have been good to know before we signed the papers. It turned out ok for us anyhow, but I wish he'd been a little more "tight" about it. It would have helped us avoid any surprises later. On the other hand, selling that house involved an inspector who was even more loose than we'd had originally, which worked to our advantage. ;)

OUCH! Tough break, Chief. I hope they do right by you.

I had someone make a left in front of me once that they had no business trying. I did everything I could to stop (and had a barrier preventing me from moving left to avoid him), but still hit him pretty square just behind the passenger rear tire. The mess of debating with his insurance company just how good of a fix I was entitled to was a real pain in the rear.

That I had yet to even mail the first payment for the car made things even worse for my state of mind.

Least you got it fixed.

My brother a little over a month ago had a full 54 foot semi make a left turn in front of him. That guy's insurance company is saying it is my brothers fault because the cop didn't cite the trucker. (Needless to say that the report points out that the driver is at fault for failing to yield to oncoming traffic ).

I hate insurance companies!

And yet people seem to have so much faith in them! "Insure your camera gear! Insurance is the holy grail!"

Yet I don't sleep better at night, why? I have somewhat forgotten about how I was openly INSULTED (repeatedly too) by the insurance agent, but I am quite sure they will find a way to deny the cover should anything REALLY go wrong.

Jamie, personally I don't think the plane adds anything to this shot.
