LOL...he probably just wants to know if there's any graduated neutral smart filters instead ;) (helps alleviate the shame of buying a one to improve one's density....)

Thanks for covering for me while I was at work, Lonnie!

Any time. Someone has to keep these kids in line...

This past weekend I displayed my new pride and joy lens to the Willamette Crew - they suggested I run a side-by-side with another lens.

So here we go-
Test Conditions
Outside, natural light
Tripod
Remote Shutter release
f/5.6 - ISO 100 - Av Mode

One of the lenses is my Canon 70-200 f/2.8 non-IS (which people say is softer than the f/4 ;-)a )

The other is a third-party lens...

Below are 100% crops of my 85 f/1.8 box

Needless to say, I was truly shocked about the results - makes one wonder if Canon is really worth it...

Thanks to all the opinions, I really appreciate it.

Jamie, personally I don't think the plane adds anything to this shot.
This one is fantastic! Definitely a winner there.

Thanks Chris. I definitely like the shot of the Vera Cruse by itself.

I am going to finish the edits on these in the morning and let the boss choose. Kinda takes the monkey off my back. LOL
