Wait:

The trial is fully functional and never expires, but applies a watermark to images produced with one of the two Tone Mapping methods and four of the six exposure blending modes.

nope, just the normal levels etc. (it's 3 diff shots divided into six different exposures via levels)

And then do you use the Photmatix program or the photoshop plug-in? Do you ever do true HDR or just tone-mapping?

This guys HDR are just... well... amazing! https://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=331509

I used photoshop to do the levels adjustments. I took 3 shots at 3 different exposures. Then I duplicated each of them in photoshop and adjusted levels to make the dynamic range broader...then I used photomatix to generate the hdr of the 6 shots and then I tonemapped it in photomatix because it doesn't let me save an hdr as a jpeg. I don't think I understand that program very well but I think the plane is my best effort yet with it.

I believe I found the watermark Wool was talking about.

This is a quick and dirty attempt at the Tone Mapping. This is the Washington State Capitol on a really rainy day. Please excuse the rain drops on the lens.
