You always don't have a pond... (as far as I know).

Schmidt's has a pond... but I can't see it from the house - I would have to go 1/2 mile to look at it... Not sure if the pond even contains food for a heron -- pretty nasty looking pond.

Since ducks are now being debated, I figured this was a good time to post our friendly elk for some variation. He's one of four who seem to be frequenting our front yard. Our dogs, of course, seem to be quite frightened of them... To bad the elk aren't frightened of the dogs, as the garden suffers.

Looks real interested in going up against an elk 5 times her size, doesn't she?

All photographs are there to remind us of what we forget. In this - as in other ways - they are the opposite of paintings. Paintings record what the painter remembers. Because each one of us forgets different things, a photo more than a painting may change its meaning according to who is looking at it. ~John Berger

I would vote but then you don't have an option for it :(

I have shot boxes in the past, I have also shot the odd duck, but I don't buy anything new so I can't do either.

however if I did get something new it would be a flower.

Ditto!

Nice Elk! Too bad they can't follow the same fate as your cow...

You mean the one in the freezer? Well, the thing is, if we shot at one, we probably wouldn't ever see the others again...

that is a nice looking elk...your dog looks very puzzled though ;)

and when I get my MKIII I'm going to not shoot a duck or a box (letting my actions speak louder...but maybe not as often  than my words!) Although, I'm superstitious and am hoping it's not going to bode ill...

If your actions are going to speak louder than your words you're going to have to get busy! You've got over 12,000 pictures to take. ;)

Has it shipped yet?

I DID clarify that it wouldn't be "as often" as my woids!

and no...sigh. I'm supposed to get a tracking number tomorrow. If the shipment arrives like it's scheduled to...

You know...I'm kinda surprised that some twisted soul has not posted box and/or ducks on that thread (this is not to give you guys ideas...it's merely to say that I figured some warped soul would do it in response...)
