BTW, I know the real Title Fairy, and he/she is one scary dude/dudess. He/she shares Maureen Souza's hair color, and we know how she is.:rolleyes::lol:

He/she also has a short, red beard, so if he/she is female, that makes her doubly scary.:shock:

I've liked my titles as well. :)

It's sunny today and I'm going to a concert in the amusement park tonight with a few friends. Going to drop off my bag and such at home, and bring along the camera and 80-200 mm.

That's a good concert lens. Have fun, and try to make it through the evening without hitting the Red Bull and vodka.

When I was 'courting' my wife, we went to a Burns Night ball (she was living in Edinburgh), which was sponsored by Smirnoff and Red Bull (free drinks all night :D) - needless to say we were so wired, we couldn't get to sleep till 5am. It's great stuff :).

This seems like a severe form of self-abuse.

First you get yourself all messed up. Then, you can't sleep it off.

Hehe, well, to be fair, we weren't rolling in the aisles drunk - but kept on topping up all evening - it was actually quite fun - spent a few hours chatting when we got back, as opposed to falling into a drunken stupor, trying to keep the room from spinning.

Now, with 2.6 kids, I can't face the thought of getting drunk - have to get up at the same time every day, holiday or not, and the kids don't care if I'm hungover, so I stick within my (ever decreasing!) limits :).

I haven't gotten really sloshed in a social or public environment since I was in my twenties, a veeery long time ago. I just don't like not being in control of myself, especially when there can be consequences. I had a very bad scare once, and it has stuck with me all these years.

Not long ago, however, my wife and I decided to have a drink at home, and she volunteered to be the bartender. I had a half-empty bottle of Scotch, and she poured the whole thing into a large water glass. (She didn't want to put a half-empty bottle back in the pantry.) I drank the whole thing over the course of a half hour or so, and really remember nothing else that evening.

I suppose it's a good thing when you can count on one hand the number of times you've been really crocked.

I can relate to that - I can count on one hand (one finger) the number of times I've been wrecked since either of my kids were born. I changed job at the end of last year, and I went out with some members of the team, and boss's boss (my boss couldn't make it). Before that, the last time I was wrecked was probably that time at the ball - I started drinking at the age of 16, so by my mid twenties I'd lost interest in getting wasted.

WhoooooooooooooooW!

Half a bottle of scotch....now that is my way to get plastered too!

And today's quote of the day:
PuddlePirate: We call him Puds. Or Puddle. He is our "Vat of useless knowledge" Our professor of oddities, if you will. Stick around....you can learn a lot from him.

ROTFLMAO....I love this! (if you must rake someone over the coals, it came from Cat (TPBM, not the bird forum "Jail Kitten" 300/2.8 ISL toting one))

Sometimes I wonder if people drink to excess because they're not having any fun being sober. That's never been a problem for me, so I never really felt the need. I manage to have a good time no matter what shape I'm in.

It's always interesting to see a bunch of people who are drinking...they laugh at everything, including things that aren't remotely funny. That's me when I'm sober.:lol:

Erm, I guess I'd trust an XT with kit lens on it, but no more than that! Not everyone needs really heavyweight legs and head (and in fact, for many shooters on here, my tripod wouldn't stand up to the job), but even so - it just looks scary

That's about the limit. It's really meant for P&S or bridge (superzoom) cameras.

What's your tripod? PLEASE don't tell me Supermarket Special!!

Chief is blessed like that :p

I drink to forget all the bad s$#t happening.

Unfortunately, I tend to forget the good and remember the bad.

Nevertheless I will have another Stolichnaya (yes, cheap rocket fuel Russian vodka, I don't get to drink Goose all the time :p)

Lol, no, it's a set of Manfrotto (Bogen?) 190XPROB legs, and a 484RC2 ball head.

See? This is what confuses me.
You drink to forget, but when you sober up, all the same problems are still there. In the meantime, whatever fun you had while you were drunk is immediately forgotten.
