In fact, that's why when bad things happen, I do everything BUT drink - it just makes it worse, plus if you get in the habit of drinking when bad stuff happens, it just becomes that much too easy to start drinking all the time. Dangerous slope to go down - drink too much, get the shakes, then you'll need IS even on a sunny day .

Oh, I spend the day working to fix the problems BEFORE I start drinking. Last thing I want to do is wake up and find they are all still there ;)

Now that's the way to do it - drink to celebrate the fact that the bad stuff is gone (for now at least :))

That's a good concert lens. Have fun, and try to make it through the evening without hitting the Red Bull and vodka.

Hey, I was absolutely sober last time we ended up in a club and got home at 5:10 am. :p

Honestly, it's just an outdoors concert in the amusement park. Not the place to get drunk according to me. Besides, I'm so darn sleepy hitting the Rd Bull & vodka would only result in me being totally knocked out within 5 gulps.

I will see how close I'll stand by the stage. I'll be watching Lisa Miskovsky (external link), she's actually quite good. :)

BTW, I know the real Title Fairy, and he/she is one scary dude/dudess. He/she shares Maureen Souza's hair color, and we know how she is.:rolleyes::lol:

He/she also has a short, red beard, so if he/she is female, that makes her doubly scary.:shock:

I believe I've identified to the TF. Obviously I'm not gonna say who it is because the wrath of the TF is NOT to be trifled with..

I have seen the power and I feeeeer immensely

Best leave the TF to its benign work of bestowing titles.

Lol, no, it's a set of Manfrotto (Bogen?) 190XPROB legs, and a 484RC2 ball head.

That is actually a very nice setup. I didn't like the older 190's which were like 2.5 kilos, which is way too heavy, but the new 190X cuts the weight to just 1.8 kilos and has that nifty little horizontal center column feature. Weight carrying capacity is very good, too.

The ballhead is the weak link in your setup, the 484 is really tiny, I was surprised how small it was when I actually encountered it in person. However the good news is, upgrading the ballhead will fix that. (consider something like the Markins Q3 should opportunity knock... no kidding.. the Arca compatible release system REALLY ROCKS)

Exactly. I actually DON'T drink until the coast is clear - I want my wits about me to watch for incoming fire. Very strict about that. No sense giving the evildoers an advantage.

Thanks, yes, it does me fine. To be honest, I really don't use it much, and the 484 can just about cope with my camera as is - I'm getting the 70-200 f/4 this summer, and if I need to use that on the tripod, then I'll probably get a new head, but I figured for a 'starter' kit, it was fairly sound.

The horizontal centre column is a great feature - although you can't have the tripod flat when you use it, as it would topple over, which means lowering the legs on the opposite side lower, to counterbalance it (there should probably be a hook to allow you to hang a counterweight which would mean it could stand straight, but for the price, I'm not going to complaint!). All in all, though, it's a great set of legs :D.

All the Starbucks are closed, so I can't get her any calming juice. It's going to be a long night.... :D

Puddle, this is the ONE time I actually feel sorry for you. You have my sincere sympathies. I can only imagine what a living hell that was....and no Starbucks to calm the savage beast.

I can't believe I slept through all the antics here last night.

I love that one distinguished member there thought it was disrespectful. It seems there's an acute case of inability to laugh at one's self over there.

Nice :) I love them. Just couldn't fit me, the Mrs and our 2 (nearly 3) kids in one :D.

I'm not sure why I was making this so convoluted and difficult in my head....

The same thinking that had you riding on the outside of the TR Shuttle.

What has happened to calicokat btw, haven't seen him around for a while (4 weeks) and his title says "calicokat is BANNED"...

Which isn't the standard "Banned" message. That's more generic.

ISTR he'd said something about an annual 4-week stint of something or other, but ICBW.

goatee wrote in post #3381116 (external link)
 - I'd not noticed him for a while, but surprised to hear he's been banned.

Edit:hehe, I think that's the TF up to his tricks again!

I believe so - he made some remark about banning him for the sake of his bank account, or so he could get some work done, or something.

I think finding an old duck shot was cheating!! Jake was easy on her, lucky girl:lol::lol:

Indeed...she should have been sent forth at that ungodly hour to come back with a fresh duck shot...complete with supporting EXIF....hehehe
