Hey, I have the 486CR2 + 190XProB also. I wouldn't mind if it was a bit more steady, but it's not that bad :) And it's pretty light...

A bit steadier? What do you shoot in, an earthquake? That rig is pretty solid!

If the long tele's 'creep' a bit, you might want to invest in a sturdier ballhead. They do help.

It's ok :) And we don't have no earthquakes here ;)

Hey, I had a Velbon before and I LOVE the Manfrotto after that. It's steady enough, and I love the weight :)

I think the TF has a crush on you.;)

LOL silly bear. No one has a crush on me. :) It would be an honor to be someone's crush, but highly unlikely.

Mornin', Wu. You're looking delightful today.

We have a long day ahead. We have to drive over to Ontario (CA), roughly 90 miles from here. We're picking up BIL at the airport, and Lois wants to hit half a dozen malls on the way.

I'm okay with it as long as there's at least one Barnes & Noble among them.

Thank you, Chief. :) I missed this one earlier. I sure hope there is an Apple store somewhere along your path today. Spread the good word, and be safe.

Yo..... did you read my little diatribe on why IS in a point and shoot is so valuable? ;)

Looks are cool and all, but IS is worth looks AND provides image quality....

Yeah, I know! I should get the IS one...argh! But the IXUS 70 looks sooo nice. Decisions... I

MOOORNING!

Congratulations! DUCK SHOT! DUCK SHOT!!
I have one of those, and I would NEVER put my long tele on it you sicko ;)
You can even see the legs about to crack up!

It was only the f/4 - it held up quite well... But he isn't going to take the 70-200 hiking, just the 17-35 and the 50...

fi20100 wrote in post #3381081 (external link)
What has happened to calicokat btw, haven't seen him around for a while (4 weeks) and his title says "calicokat is BANNED"...

Missing him as well - his title is from the TF, Kat asked for that title...

goatee wrote in post #3381085 (external link)
Oh yes, and please tell me that tripod is a joke? I wouldn't trust my 20D+24-70 on it, never mind a longer lens! It looks like a trio of those old telescoping aerials with a tripod head.

Not a joke - he is looking at taking that hiking.... nice and light!

So... is Santa Clause and the Title Fairy the same person?

Ouch - Belmondo said that Mo(o) and the TF have the hair color, Mo(o) doesn't have white/grey hair!

I've got a good news/bad news today (on a really trivial scale).

I recently entered a "Spring Blooms" photo contest with our local newspaper.

Good news: My shot made the front page today! (Okay, it was a 1x1 in the header announcing the contest, but hey, it was the front page!).

Bad news: My shot only got honorable mention in the contest.

I guess the contest judges and the editors have different tastes.

Not bad - better than nothing! Congrats!

A newspaper and some other partners are having a photography contest. This year's theme is "City people". By now I'm spamming the site with submissions. Muhahaahahahahaha

BTW, I know the real Title Fairy, and he/she is one scary dude/dudess. He/she shares Maureen Souza's hair color, and we know how she is.:rolleyes::lol:

He/she also has a short, red beard, so if he/she is female, that makes her doubly scary.:shock:

Well, gee, this might narrow it down some. Whoever it is, must be a wizard at this kind of stuff.

See? This is what confuses me.
You drink to forget, but when you sober up, all the same problems are still there. In the meantime, whatever fun you had while you were drunk is immediately forgotten.

I'd go to watch everyone else drink. I got to be entertained, AND I got to remember it the next day. Also, the blackmail payments were nice, too.

Puddle, this is the ONE time I actually feel sorry for you. You have my sincere sympathies. I can only imagine what a living hell that was....and no Starbucks to calm the savage beast.

It got a little frantic around here for a while. Even after we shut down for the night, we were still laughing!

I can't believe I slept through all the antics here last night.

Neither can I. You just missed it.

I love that one distinguished member there thought it was disrespectful. It seems there's an acute case of inability to laugh at one's self over there.

It's tragic. Just saying.....

Woolburr wrote in post #3381753 (external link)
Indeed...she should have been sent forth at that ungodly hour to come back with a fresh duck shot...complete with supporting EXIF....hehehe

Oh Geez, that would've been baaaaad.

Woolburr wrote in post #3381782 (external link)
No...not much chance of that. Just think about their methods of travel. Santa uses a magic sleigh and a team of flying reindeer...the TF slips into his little pink tutu and flits from place to place...

Hey, you lookin' to be banned somewhere unseemly?

Just got back from reading "that thread" and I was going to mention that.

Amazing how ANY thread in there has bickering...

"I think there is too much blur"
"Well, I like the blur"
"Well you aren't a pro"
"Yea, stop stealing my money &#$Y"
"Some people don't want to pay a lot of money for a wedding"
Mr. T voice "I pity da foo who doesn't pay me $3K!"

(not a real thread, but it seems like it)

A just and fitting retribution.

Dang, you guys are cold! Just and fitting to be banned on the WF??

LOL...Wool, you ARE heartless!

Woolburr wrote in post #3381813 (external link)
I guess I missed that post...will have to go get my refresher laugh for the day!

I was just over there...it looks like posts have been deleted! Only on the WF would there be abuse hurled on a thread like that (and they wonder why they're the butt of the jokes around here). Even on the lens forum, they'd just come in and tormet the ban-ee.

T.D. wrote in post #3381837 (external link)
It looks like a couple were deleted. Read the quotes.

makes me want to post the WF Oz TR's over there...
