Canon 2x II Extender EF - Autofocus. or the 1.4?
I'll be using it with a XT and a 70-200 f/4.0L

You will not lose AF with the 1.4x - it will take you to f/5.6 which is what they need for AF... On a 1D body you could AF to f/8 - and the 2x TC would work there....
