Isn't it amazing that that's one of the stickies in "Lenses"?

Yep! I was afraid to post a question in the LF due to the recent banishing of Permi. I was afraid that I might get stuck there, so I thought I might get a quicky response here. But The SEARCH Button is My Friend!

Too late know since that I got on eBay. But other than the 4lb max weight difference, why?

okay.. y'all is the wedding forum mean and i've just never noticed?...

Well... yes and no...

I am going to help Boring Boy Riley as a second shooter this December - so I have been reading the WF a lot to see the advice - for the most part.

But then I see them get nasty - sometimes to the newbies, but to each other. They have their opinions on how something should look and get all crazy if someone goes against the grain. I just sense much venom in there at times... other times they are fine --- but I would rather go to the Lens Forum than the Wedding Forum!

That is the feature I like most - 4lbs more? meh, none of my gear is that big -- but the seperate pan control is really nice for landscapes and panning...

KITTEH!!!

Looks like we got a wildcat here...

Y'all might remember me asking about Siberian cats a couple of weeks ago. We found a breeder up in Nuevo (which is maybe a 20-25 minute drive from where we live) that had some kittens. We stopped by there one evening so that I could see if I would survive or swell up and roll around on the ground gasping. I survived the trip without incident, amazed that I wasn't reacting to those cats.

Needless to say now that we got the cat (picked her up on Monday). She's a tiny little thing..more fur than anything. She was pretty scared the first day or so, but has started turning into an attention freak. She's been sequestered in one area of the house all week, and I think we'll open up the rest of the house to her maybe this weekend.

If Alyssa isn't posting here, it's because she's either doing chores, practicing music, or now playing with the cat.

Oh yea- there is nothing wrong with the 486 - it is a good ballhead - with a monopod you just pan with the 'pod.

That is kinda the plan. I figure with the 70-200 & TC I may need to use the mono just for stability purposes. Or maybe not.

Ordered my Cokin filters from 2filters.com on Tuesday at 7:52 pm PDT. They arrived today (Friday) at noon via USPS.

Not too shabby!
