I'm on a mission next week when I go to Texas. I don't know what I'll do if I actually get a shot of one of these guys.

What an awesome resource POTN is. The OP gave me great info on where to find a Crested Caracara (the bird on the Mexican flag). They are truly magnificent.

Is that pollen on his leg?

Yup...the big bumble bees store it in a pouch.

Life is hard...but I just take it one photograph at a time.

No. UnderArmor makes these thing for bee legs. It keeps them cool, while removing the sweat from their bodies. Very stylish, and they come in an assortment of colors.

Yes, it's pollen, Mr. Eagle Scout. ;)

I wonder what time - if when they open, or right before they close -- GAH, suspense is killing me! (not really, forgot all about it till now)

I forgot about it too, until I was cleaning out my PM folder and I found an old PM from you concerning this contest.

Crumpler makes it. Lowepro is coming out with one in Fall.

Ya'll will like this. For the past couple weeks it has sounded like a bird has been ramming into my window and a few other windows on the house.
When I go to look I see nothing... Well, my cat SAW the bird today and looked really hungry ;-)a and here is this robin trying to fly through a closed window (bird brain)....

I go outside to see what is up, and they have built a nest on the house, not three feet away from my window... Too bad I can't see it from my window, that could yield some cool shots...

Hola, chaps. Still very busy doing things with the new house. Out all day in the garden today, giving things a really severe cutting back.

But had time for this.

Some I took with that lens and some I took with my Tamron. The quality between the lenses was hard to discern.

WOW!! I love that hummer shot! My mom has a feeder and has been wanting me to get some shots like that, but I haven't had any luck so far. Its been so hot here I think the nectar is too hot to drink. The hummers go to the feeders but leave after one sip.
