That is a Tourist with the bat in his hands and a Crawdad catching.

I had a suspicion that that was it. Just wasn't sure which was which.

sorry about the quality - my scanner here is far from top rate...

I love this Athena. It has a very surreal quality to it. Almost cartoon-like. And I mean that in a good way.

Surreal was how I perceived it, as well. Super shot!!

These didn't turn out as well as I had thought in my head - I need a better background than the backyard... I will try again later (and maybe Riley can help with the flashes...)

Both pitchers were throwing in the mid-90s...some real heat on a hot day. I think this is the guy that hit 97.

Anything faster than highway speed is really moving! I think my arm would disconnect and wind up about halfway between the mound and the batter if I tried to fling something that fast...

I don't know yet...I just got home. I had it mounted on a tripod to shoot a green heron (MY FIRST EVER!) but the dumb thing was SO FAR AWAY...so first I put both tc's on the 300 but it wasn't far enough and then I put them both on the 400 and had Dan MF it for me and it was just by accident that I found out it AF'd too :) but every time I pushed the shutter button (remote shutter) it still bounced everything on the tripod...

anyway...

We had a nice day birding...got some lovely (I hope) shots of the cedar waxwings and kildeer and some osprey shots but who knows how they turned out. As far as the green heron goes, I'm NOT counting on those shots to turn out...

now off to catch up

My 300 f/4 will AF on the mk2n with a 2x and 1.4x stacked. I tried it on a couple of moon shots...snapped right in.;)

I was able to find someone who actually enjoys this heat.

He was taking a siesta in the cactus.

QUOTED IMAGE

I really like this shot...if this was with the 24-105, then all those people who say it has lousy bokeh, obviously don't know how to use it!
