I hadn't heard about the american flag thing. The TV product almost sounds like Tivo which is what we have in the states.

You're in the states? Why does your location say Guam?

It's like the Tivo, but it won't try to predict what you'll like, which is a massive bonus for the Tivo.

Yeah, I know, calling police for a moooooooooing cow is pretty pathetic (or is it criminal?)

What should I do? I hear the cow's bells when my window is open! Do you think I should sue the farmer? Oh, and sometimes, I hear police, ambulances, ... passing by. I think I will sue them as well. They're making way too much noise

I'm in Guam but from the states. I'm in the US Air Force and got stationed here. Technically though Guam is a territory of the US... almost a state. :P

I was guessing it was probably something like that.

I think the nut job that thinks cows mooing is criminal should be locked in a box with the idiots here that think flying the American flag is advertising and therefore illegal. Pretty sad when cops are called away from dealing with robbery, rape and murder to handle mooing cow and flag flying complaints.

I couldn't watch the video (don't have the plug in on my mac) but people are crazy. When we moved in to our house 2yrs ago, we saw no sign of the railroad. In fact it's 2 blocks away off towards the more remote part of town (we live right on the edge of town and love it)...anyway, the first night we were here we practically jumped out of our beds because of the train whistles....should I sue the railroad? we learned to live with it and now rarely notice the trains...how could anyone be so anal about cows? I can't believe the owner was cited...

I thought you might be in the military. Where do you hail from originally? My son in in AK right now (CG) serving one year of isolated duty...then he hopes to get transferred to a polar pig, and travel round the world.

When I lived in Moorpark, the train tracks were less than 100 feet from our house. It's amazing how fast you learn to tune out things like that.

Retiring from the military is really beneficial if you can stick it out. My husband could have retired 2 years ago if he'd stayed in...we always think about that, as he's slogging off to work at 4am...and think about how hospital stays cost us $25 and now even with "insurance" they are astronomical...and how medical and dental was so much cheaper...yeah...hindsight and all. I don't know if son is going to stay in either but he's thinking about it for those reasons.

Sorry about your thread and the lack of shooters in Guam. You should do photo ops for us here...I've only seen Guam in the old photos of my grandfather's when he was stationed there in WW2. Mostly he was shirtless with a very big gun :D

I think that's why my father stayed in even though he was tired of it. I really like my job but it's becoming more administative which i don't like. I know what you mean about wanting to stay in, i already know a few like that that have gotten out and thought the civilian lifestyle would be far different. I think it's just the sudden change to do what your told and do what you want. :) I have a few pictures of Guam already... i can post one here and maybe you can all tell me what you think?

Very pretty shots and a very pretty area. The second one may be a bit dark but not too much. I can see the details just fine on my monitor. It's a lovely place. Do you hike much around those hills or does the humidity prevent much exertion?

Edit*

i actually love hiking.. but a lot of this is private property. There are a few trails but a good bit of what's nice to see is built for tourists. A lot of beautiful waterfalls, but they're ruined by concrete walkways and you have to pay to get to 'em. Tourism and Military are the highest source of economy for the island so goes without saying...

And thank you very much for the wonderful compliments. :D
