I remember this one! That one was very cool. I remember it because it's a duck in a tree, and I thought it was funny! Great shots, TD

Cool! Yes, she nested in a giant oak tree. Her mate had been killed. This is taken at the Kettle Foods plant. Have you been there? They have a wetland area they've restored. It's a really fabulous place.

I took this one there as well.

It's interesting: You'd think now that they're a little older, they would be past this sort of thing, but, in all honesty, they seem more shocked. "Daaaaad!! Did you just kiss mom in the kitchen?!?!?!? Ewww!"

Permagrin wrote in post #2436202 (external link)
He's not KIDDING...they're 20 and 22 and totally went off about that today...a simple kiss...do any of your children do that?

You two must have been way too puritanical when bringing them up :p

Besides, isn't that college age? When they get exposed to all the sins the world has to offer including some things that go on after hours, with or without a hot tub, skyclad, that would probably not be possible to mention here? :p

Fully exposing your berries to this crowd?! Are you crazy man???

Have you no shame???

I think it's the Petkal influence and the 'flower of his manhood'.

I'll take a line from PG's book..

"IT'S SO SMALL!!!!!"

Never been. where is it?

Do you know where Costco is (on Hwy 22/Mission St)? The cross street is Hawthorne. If you go North from Costco it's 1/4 mile on the left (right next to the Wachovia Call Center).

Another great place right across the street from there is behind the office park. There are 2 great ponds where you can find lots of great birds (ducks, geese, GBH, etc)

These are from there:

Go into the parking lot (past the security area). They don't care and actually encourage it. They have a nature trail that leads down to Mill Creek. Lots and lots of great birds down there. The GBH nest is in the tree right near their front entrance. The GBH come back every year. Although, this is apparently one of the kids' nests. The parents' nest blew down last year and they moved trees. But these guys came back and rebuilt.
