I thought I answered the PM...what are you guys doing tomorrow? Our big dinner is tomorrow and then we have a Christmas bfast, presents and then we spend the day having fun....Christmas is mellow but Christmas eve is party stress!

Big dinner tomorrow night. Not sure when gifts will be. Mike wanted to start tonight. Didn't want to open his, but wanted to give others one of theirs. Nope. :)

They will leave on Christmas day before noon.

I was falling aslep on them tonight and they all went to bed- now I am awake

it's not too bad really, because it does work well IMO ;) (I'm the queen of the bubble bath as well as high priestess of TMS)

I really like some of the Lush products. Feels good n slippery and tons of bubbles. want to fill the tub to my neck and relax

That happens to me...I WANT to give everyone their presents (but I just now finished wrapping them...)

I'm sleepy too but I still have laundry to fold...
gosh it's quiet here tonight...

Too quiet. not even any lens talk.

I need to wash another load but it isn't happening tonight.

I found the rest of those chocolates I told you about.

We had an earthquake a little while ago---just a little one, but it broke the monotony of doing dishes.

well, better to break the monotony than to break dishes...I always say...well I never say that but it sounds like a good axiom :)

And Lightstream, thanks for the firework data. Of course, it's buried back about 46 pages ago....

You're welcome :)

Liza has good data as well. My chart is slightly different - I lock ISO 100 but

f/8 - 4 seconds
f/11 - 8 seconds
f/16 - 16 seconds
f/22 - 30 seconds (32 really but the most convenient is 30)

I use aperture to increase the duration, rather than follow ISO. Different objectives.

Seldom do I ever go that far.. here, they fire so much, so fast, that 4 seconds is more than enough. If your fireworks are very sparse, adjust to taste.

DO chimp. If you are seeing way too much blowouts adjust as well. For me, I just use one setting and leave it on.. I accept that out of the whole lot of frames, some will be blown, some will not capture anything interesting, however on average, it's 50 good frames out of 150. One almost feels sinful expending so much memory especially when one has FILM shooters next to them on fireworks night :p

Don't feel bad. My boys are spending Christmas day with their father, so I'll be alone, too. :(

Thanks.. good to know I'm not the only one..

Yeah.. last year I was reading an article about how the holiday season can be stressful on those who don't have company to spend it with since everybody around looks so happy and they are the exceptions.

At least I am home.. I just remembered Sari is going to be at work, which is worse (I want combat pay: 3X market rate if I'm going to be on duty on Christmas night.. not that we expect any flying ammo in the datacenter.. it's just a way of saying "triple it")

Sure wish I was on someone's 'priority list' - as in, someone would prefer to spend Christmas with me rather than anybody else. I'll keep dreaming though, and while I'm dreaming I'll have another drink. A strong one. Where's the 30ml automatic-pour spout? Should'a brought one back.

Yea, it's much more fun to say "It's good to be BAD" than "Hey Rocky, watch me pull a rabbit out of my hat..."
