Reminds me of what a friend said....when you're 20.....you can eat absolutely ANYTHING you want in any quantity, and get away with it.... sadly that does not last

Even I am feeling the pinch.. he was saying as you head onwards to 30, it starts getting progressively worse.. (he's past that mark already) and I'm headed there all right!

Oh, I don't know about that. I think it depends on heredity, level of activity, and metabolism. As a teacher, I see a lot of obese kids every day. And while I struggle a bit more these days with maintaining my weight, I don't have a huge problem with it. I'm a lot like my father, who was always slender. I put on some extra pounds after I quit smoking, but I needed to as I was underweight. I'm tall, so I'd like to stay at 135 but keep myself toned.

Hmm.. good point! I think genetics have a lot to do with it. I still look ok, fortunately ;)

Passed that a long time ago, sadly. but can still look ok for an old broad. I guess a pleasant attitude helps. Few scowl lines here and not a grey hair on my head. lol thank heavens for small favors!

My friend finishes by saying, when you reach 40, you can eat absolutely anything you want, in any quantity.

The rationale being, that by the time he gets to 40, he plans to simply give up and go with the flow
