Hey, guys. I didn't meant to cast a pall over this thread. It really isn't a big deal to me. I'm just trying to get opinions on what you see as an intelligent way to approach this when it does happen. In the meantime, I thoroughly intend to keep going the way things are. That includes terrorizing you all with my insane abuse of moderator powers.

Actually, the thoughts of having 20/20 distance vision are intriguing. I've never had that, ever.

Beyond that, we shan't speak of it again.

Your friend,

Blind Pew

Use what you have until you feel you are ready to give it up...with the advances in corrective vision surgery...I wouldn't rule out being back to normal (if there is such a thing) in fairly short order. I like taking pictures too much to just ditch my gear...at least until I had some reasonable proof that it was never going to work well for me again.

It's very kind of you to stick up for that poor little beast.

I suppose somebody's got to....

I think she'd make a wonderful playmate for my big Maine Coon kitten. Teddy would probably love chasing her around the house!

Night, Permie. I'll give Teddy a hug after he's finished playing with Connor's new skateboard. He likes to get on it so the boys can push him up and down the hallway.

I missed everybody tonight.. dang bar wouldn't slow down. oh well, I am slowly working my mind around getting up in the morning for shooting... sunrise isn't until after 8 so I could do it... if only I could talk myself into getting out in the cold.

I know- I get up every morning with good intentions, but then I find all sorts of reasons not to go out to walk. maybe A.M. will be different??

I don't have any excuses.. everytime I have to work at six in the morning I watch the sun come up and think that the very next morning free off I'm going to go out with my camera.. and then morning rolls around and I just can't get myself to get out in the cold. maybe tomorrow will be better...

I do not know who scares me more....Webby with his curious love for the disfigured mutt, or the mutt herself.

Turnerzdad wrote in post #2453030 (external link)
I wouldn't spend another minute dwelling on such disturbing quesitons.

Both scenarios are disturbing beyond belief.

Tragic. Just tragic.

Webby has such beautiful children......I ain't sure it's good for them to be exposed to Lola day in, day out. Moreover, that other mongrel of his is not exactly an Adonis either. Very sad.

Poor Lola.. I almost like her because she's considered such a unappealing little creature.. kind of like as a kid when I always wanted the runt of the litter of kittens and always picked the half dead ugly goldfish because nobody else wanted them... Lola needs somebody on her side. I think that's what's soo appealing for Webby.. besides, y'all know ET.. that was one seriously ugly Stephen Spielberg concocted alien.. but, dang if everybody didin't like him...

Yep--cold. that's my excuse. warm bed- nother excuse. downright too lazy . . .there's another. I am up and walking to work by 6 most mornings, but if there is no work, I like staying home!
Maybe I'll take a drive tomrrow. ha

hey everyone. thought I would pop in. did ya miss me ? :)

I saw the new james bond movie today. thought it was a waste of time really. some parts just seem to drag out.

there was one scene that I thought the horizon should have been straight.

Tom, why are you look at selling your kit. You could find that once you have had surgury , you could be fine. if I was you, not only would I worry but I would also keep all the gear untill I can no longer see. then out it goes.

My only concern is about how long it might take, and how long I might be out of action. I'm not concerned about the eventual outcome; I know that cataracts are really nothing more than a big inconvenience. My only thoughts were whether or not it would be wiser to unload some of my gear once I reach the point where I can't effectively use it. If I'm going to be out of action for a couple years, I think the answer is different than if it's just a few months.

Anyway, I'm fully functional now, and might be for years before things get to that point. Of course, there are countless possible scenarios, including the one where they decide to start growing more quickly. In a way, that would really be the best thing.

Anyway, my immedite problem is digesting an enormous steak I had for dinner last night. We had a client drop in on us somewhat unexpectedly yesterday, and we took her out to dinner at the new Bing Crosby Restaurant in Rancho Mirage last night. (Yup. That Bing Crosby, qnd yes, he's still dead. His family is apparently still trying to capitalize on his name---successfully.) Anyway, my stomach is making strange gurgling noises, and sleep does not appear to be a viable option right at the moment. Hmmm. Maybe I need something to eat.

hmmm that sounds dangerous. was the steak nice?

do you know the size of your stomach ? clinch you hands in to fists and then join them together, bingo. do you know how long it takes for the body to realise that it's full. a good 20 or so min. how is this going to help you. well it's not.

I think you should stand on your head. is this going to be helpful. more than likely not.

That steak looked like it was about the size of my leg. It was very good.

Actually, I heard that it takes 72 hours to completely digest meat, so I'm really looking forward to Saturday evening.
