Anyone know what font Gitzo uses? Is it a font only they have (like canon) or is it readily available?

Everyday use: 7D2, 1.4x v3 Canon TC (sometimes the 2x v2 Canon TC), Canon 500mm f4 L IS USM; 6D, 24-105L

I think he means that the canon logo is not a full alphabet font, but rather was designed as is.
If there's a match, you're most likely to find it at whatthefont.com

Yea I don't want to look through all those fonts. Was hoping someone was familiar with it.

Canon has their own font, forgot what it was called, but don't know if they made the full alphabet or not. A match is not available for Canon's though.

It's not something familiar.. and what the font doesn't identify it (I tried)

I'd bet it's a tweaked version of something else.

Most likely it is a custom font. They're not hard to do for a graphic artist. If you're looking for a font, let me suggest you look at these 2 sites. I find all my fonts from these.

By the way, which font are you taking about. I found a couple they use.

You don't look through them. You grab an image of the some text using that font and upload it and it will tell you what font it thinks it is.

Oh, I didn't realize what whatthefont was then. I tried using the image I had, but it couldn't find anything close.

This link will show you the logo I'm looking at (not mine):

edit: nevermind, I found something that would work for what I wanted to do.

I used the same gitzo logo image on blue... I had to crop down to just the letters... uploaded that, and WTF recognized every character - however no suggested fonts that were even close.

I think it's a custom, tweaked font - based on another font, like I said.

Anyways, glad you figured out your dilemma. 8-)
