Which one would you recommend? Canon iPF6100 or Epson Stylus 7900? I will only be using it occasionally. Share some thoughts please. Thank you.

I would say Canon, but not for quality. I have or worked with pro and consumer level printers from HP, Canon, Lexmark and Epson and of all of them Epson's total cost of ownership is 10-30% more. Epson is very aggressive protecting it's ink (with third party ink providers). My Epson Stylus R1900 is very expensive to operate. This is why Epson printers usually sell for less than the rest - they get you later with the ink. I would also avoid Lexmark - longevity is a problem with them - at least with their professional line. We constantly have problems with pickup-arms and their motorized guide rolers which are made of very think plastic. HP's are fantastic for their pro lines - we still have them at work some 10 years later. Canon's IMO are good overall and their ink is pretty reasonable. So, of those two I would go with the Canon but my preference would be for something like the HP Z series but my main concern is price, longevity and performance where you may place performance first then longevity and finally price.

Hope that helps.

My concern is the running cost. Performance wise, I would assume they are on par more or less. Not too familiar with the HP printer. Will look it up. Thanks for the advice. I really appreciate it. Others?
