I've been looking into buying a cheap[er] medium format shoot-from-the-hip camera. Any suggestions? I'm trying to keep it under $250, which is really hard I know. Managed to find a Bronica SQ-A with a 80mm f/2.8, 220 back and an AE metered prism, all for $250. Should I jump on it? If everything works, it doesn't get much better than that. The SQ-a is a TANK, and the metered prism's are quite nice to work with. The Captain and crew finally got their stuff together, now if we can only remember where we left it.

I also found a Mamiya M645-E for $140, but it's being sold "As-Is" because the meter reading is not visible. I'm not quite sure why this makes it so undesirable. I would be under the assumption that it still works properly without the display. Should I jump on it? Sounds like a good deal, but be aware that you will probably need to get a 120 back for it (unless you want to shoot 220 film...). -Dave
