I was never a fan of Ektachrome. The best slide film, overall, is Fujichrome Provia 100F, IMO. Great colors, natural skin tones and no reciprocity failure for 2 minutes. I have two 25-sheet boxes of Velvia 50, but Provia is much easier to shoot with.

Unfortunately Velvia 50 in 4x5 is no longer available. I bought 3 boxes before it was discontinued so I will be sadly enjoying it for as long as my stash holds out.

I think your scan is backwards. :)

I was there last February. Best way to clean up is with canned air, followed by scanning with digital ICE enabled.

Wow, that is awesome! I will reverse it! Thank you for posting that up!

Yah, I've shot a lot of Fujifilm. It's pretty good film. That's probably what I'll buy next from Freestyle Photo for my Crown Graphic.

Shampoo sounds like an unfortunate name for a hair product.
You're a ghost driving a meat-coated skeleton made from stardust, riding a rock, hurtling through space. Fear Nothing!

Ditto on the digital ICE.

I just use a rocket blower to clean off film strips after I insert them into the tray, and then I blow off the glass between strips.

At the flea market with a Canon Eos 630, EF 28mm/2.8 and an expired Agfa 100 rated at 25 ASA.

I kinda miss my 630. Great classic EOS body in my opinion.

Going to a music festival tomorrow, not allowed to bring "professional" (IE: Interchangeable lens cameras) gear so I'm bringing my Hexar AF, Olympus 35LC rangefinder and 10 rolls of film. Ready to go!

Ugh. I don't have money right now to become a hoarder :(.

Looks like you don't have to. Kodak is still going to make it's film. They just don't want to be the ones that market and sell it. So they're selling that component of their business. Whomever buys that component will then use film manufactured by Kodak. So this is good news - Kodak film is not going away anytime soon.

I shoot film! Most people think that teenagers don't know what film is, but I do, and I absolutely love it :D

I have 20+ film cameras, and only one digital camera. The only reason that I have the digital camera is for clients who like digital (which is the majority).

For me, film is much more real than digital. No auto correct, no photoshop, no adjustments, just the real thing.

Most of the analogue cameras I own are purely for enjoyment and experimentation. Many of them are made by Lomography, an awesome online community for analogue geeks :p

My first real love for photography was actually in film before digital, so take that, those of you who say that "film is dead."

This is where I upload all of my film photos, I have about 4,600 loaded. Their all unedited and unphotoshopped, purely analogue. Some cross processing, push, pull, etc:

Hmm have not posted anything in this thread for a long time. Then again I have not had the opportunity to shoot film over the summer (no access to darkroom and chemicals at home). :(

Here is an older shot I took at Cadbury Factory. :)

Not to ruin your idea about film, but I assume you have never been in darkroom and made prints then? O.o

Great shot Oskar!
Did you process the color film your self? Great job! Love the colors! Also: the detail is amazing, 120 film?

Well I shot 6 rolls at the music festival. Just cranking away with my Hexar AF :) it was great!

Only problem is I set one roll towards the end of the day at EI 3200 with the intent to push (It was a roll of Tri-X) aaaaaaand in a bone-head move I took the roll out of the camera and forgot to mark it before I put it with the other rolls from the day.

So I have three rolls of Tri-X, obviously they all look the same and I have no idea which one needed to be pushed.

I'm going to ask my lab if they will do a clip test for me on those three rolls so I don't ruin it. If not.... bummer, but lesson learned.

Abram, I have done the same thing. I have some 4x5 sheets that I have set aside because I don't know if I metered them for ISO 400 or 1600. I will eventually sacrifice one to see what to do.

Tony, That portrait is GORGEOUS!
