I discussed that point with the site owner and Admin years ago. Unfortunately they have been very busy with life in general, and writing code for the forum. I will bring this up again with them though.

Film is quickly coming back into popularity again and a dedicated section for film would be great. There are some online forums such as DPUG and APUG but DPUG is rarely used by anyone (most of the posts are spam) and APUG members do not like discussing modern techniques or "hybrid photography" (where negatives are scanned rather than prints). A dedicated section for film split into sensible sub-sections could fit nicely between the two and be a welcoming place for all those interested in film, film cameras and developing to discuss and share ideas. Having this on a popular forum site such as this could only further promote film use in a positive way.

We aren't going anywhere. I haven't shot any film since early last year but intend to use up at least some of the film in my fridge this year!! 35mm and especially 120. I sold my entire Bronica system recently but still have my RB67 and Rollei for 120.

I may not be shooting much film now but I follow both film threads.....

The Bronica SQ systems were very good. If you were lucky enough to have the PS lenses that were reputed to be among the best regardless of brand. I haven't shot film in quite a while either, but still have a vested interest in it.

Doubt we would ever get to the point that POTN would devote a section to film. There are a few threads for us here and there. Feel free to start a new one if you think a specific topic needs to be discussed. Post links here so we can all follow.

Would it be that difficult? Essentially it is just a database...

Not exactly to the standards of Hoya but I can now keep a UV filter attached my Bessa III....

Optional 6x7 or 6x6. Yes very nice camera and surprisingly accurate meter. I also have the older Voigtlaender Bessa I which is 6x9. The Bessa III is the same as the Fuji GF670.

These were taken with it... Delta 400 in lIfotec DDX

No, I wouldn't think so. Would love to have our own section here on POTN but there are plenty of other places to talk about film.

APUG is great for anything film/analog but as mentioned "hybrid" is mostly taboo. I did see a recent post there where they will be integrating DPUG into the main APUG site so that may change some.
I wouldn't mind an additional sub-forum here. Maybe a section for 35mm, MF and LF as well as alternative processes, hybrid and traditional wet darkroom. But it would be mostly duplicating something already extant on another great forum.

As I don't have a beard and a camera made of wood I've never felt I really fitted in at apug!!!

LOL! I haven't either. Just never got into the whole scene over there. There are a lot of good film groups on Flickr as well.

I am on Flickr I must make an effort to look at the groups/discussions. I'm not one to sit on the computer every night looking at various forums though I prefer to stick with one or two!

I had bought some 620 film from the film photography project until I realised i could use a bench grinder to modify 120 film reels!

They make their own 620 spools for sale now. I got lucky as someone gave me some old rolls of 620 film that I cannibalized for the spools. Had an old Imperial 620 box camera that I shot for a while. The winder kept getting stuck so I gave up on it. I shoot mostly medium and large format (film & wet plate) now.

And you say you haven't got a beard?!

Jokes aside I'd love to try large format but it looks an expensive thing to start....

Expensive? Nah, the most expensive part is buy the camera. Then you have to buy a plate to load for every shot you plan on taking while out in the field. Then there is the cost of large format film. Next you have to either invest in the chemicals, along with other dark room accessories, or know somebody that will develop large format.
Wait, Hmm, you may have a point about expensive to start.
Once you have everything, it's hard to beat a 4x5 contact print for detail.
