The P30 is a decent camera. My only concern especially for a student is that it reads the film ISO off the canister and does not allow you to tell the camera that there is something different loaded. This make push/pull shooting a little less convenient since you have to shoot in manual and remember to offset the eposure.

Well it seems i didn't buy the camera since the person with it never showed up to sell it.

Is there a particular one you would suggest for a High school student?

35mm film cameras are really cheap these days. I bought a Canon EOS Elan 7N brand new for less than $100 off ebay and am very happy with it.

But you need to take lenses into account. I would stay away from the EOS line if you don't own any modern Canon lenses.

I wouldn't let that stop me, that's what adapters are for. ;)

I would find a Canon AE-1 with a 50mm 1.8. Great starting set up, ability for full manual and shutter priority.

Just got gifted 4 rolls of Ilford HP5 ISO 100 film and a Holga camera. Shot 1/2 a roll in each camera.

I'm considering getting some hardcover portfolios made. I might do a collection of film and a collection of digital work, each in it's own album. What do y'all think?

HP5 is ISO 400. I hope you shot it right!

"Raw" is not an acronym, abbreviation, nor a proper noun; thus, it should not be in capital letters.

i know this is mostly canon forum but i thought i'd try...

So i recently picked up a nikkormat w/ 50 1.4 for a pretty good price. there's only 2 problems:

1) I can only change the aperture from 16-11. nothing higher.
2) the lens won't come off.

I don't mind the lens being stuck on the camera as i love 50mm focal length but how do i get the aperture to go higher?

all other functions on the camera work just fine. any help would be appreciated thanks!

i mean how do i get a larger f stop (as in going from 16 to 1.4).

i've tried forcing it and it just won't come off. i think i know why since there is this pin that attaches to the silver thing on the very left as shown in this picture.

i have no clue how to move it though. i've never owned a nikon film camera so i'm pretty lost.
