I'm using the FT. thanks for the info.

the problem was that when trying to take off the lens, the silver thing wouldn't clear the top of the prism (i think i said that right), i had to unscrew the plate that said nikkormat and then take off the lens. it was just jammed.

and for the aperture, the previous owner didn't know that the lens has to be put on @ f/5.6 or something or else it jams up.

resolved here

wow... i'd never have guessed that! i guess each body has its own idiosyncracies :) hopefully it works like a charm now?

Hey everyone! Not sure how many of you are into shooting with expired film, but just thought I'd let you know I'm selling a bunch of Kodak/Fuji colour & B+W film https://photography-on-the.net …/showthread.php?t=1087638 Didn't know what to price it but figured I am being reasonable....open to offers though.

Darn parents cleaning out their refrigerator where I'd left all my film from years ago....and not telling me until now. Oh well :)

Keep up the good work, I'll see if I've got some recent work to contribute to this thread....lovely shots in here!

Me too.

Even if it wasn't, I've got a good excuse for my parents to upgrade my camera. ;)

Just picked up a EOS 620 from eBay for $28.
I'm ecstatic to put some film in it and pop a lens on it when it comes. ^.^

I took a gamble and brought my Hasselblad along to a family shoot. They aren't exactly the best cameras to track fast moving kids with...but I think I managed to snag a few keepers. :)

and to think I was considering selling this thing...

Some photos with the 1v:
Ilford Pan F+:

Those are the only 3 b&w films I've shot so far, I prefer the Pan F+ by a large margin- nice to manipulate and easy to get good results out of. Fomapan is nice to manipulate but the 3 films I developed ended up very contrasty. Tri-X develops fine but the negatives are a pain to scan as they keep curling on me.

Hey guys!

Recently I've been wanting to shoot some analog (again) and was wondering which camera you guys could recommend me?
I have my mums old Nikon FG, but was wondering if it really matters which camera I shoot with, and if it does, if I should get another one.
I was thinking of 4 options:
- Keep the Nikon and buy lenses for it (which I can then also use on my Canon). Nikon has really good analog glass, though quite expensive.
- Get a Pentax with M42: I already have a load of M42 lenses, same as with the Nikon: I'd be able to use the lenses on my Canon body too
- Canon FD mount lens: Because it's a Canon ( ;) ). Also, the glass is extremely cheap and very easy to come by
- Early analog Canon EF mount body, so I can use all my current lenses on that camera too.

I'm not a fan of the last option personally, because the early EF camera's are really ugly and don't really give me the 'analog' feel.

How do you guys make money off of doing portraits in film? I always suggest it to my customers, but they always do digital. Do you guys offer some kind of incentive, or do you ONLY offer film for customers? If so, how exactly do you price it?

And I just finished up my first roll of Kodak Portra 400. Super excited to see how it turns out.

Well personally I don't make money off of my work professionally, so I won't address that. If the cheaper/better (from their eyes) option is digital, why would they do film? Either shoot film exclusively for your portraits or offer them a discount to do it while promising better results.

Either way, they probably want scans instead of wet prints anyways (where digital would simply make more sense).
