Hey all,

I would like to know when someone can choose a shipping method on B&H or Adorama? I ordered some items today from B&H and i chose US Mail but they sent me an email telling me that my order is large to be shipped via US Mail so they will change it to UPS if i confirmed, why is that?
Where i can check the weights restrictions?

As far as I know, USPS has restrictions similar to UPS and FedEx Ground. Which means, they'll pretty much take ANYTHING anymore.

I think I'd ask how your package(s) or order is exceeding the capabilities of USPS. If people can ship a freaking Jeep bumper via USPS, I have no idea why your camera gear wouldn't!

My wife is a USPS carrier who delivers live chickens, trees, auto glass replacements and yes, sometimes even a bumper for Jeep from her mail truck.

Having worked in the industry I can answer that question for you. The shipping options available are those offered by the seller. However, certain restrictions apply for different destinations (especially when shipping out of the US). It's also a lot easier to just list it and let the customer know that due to restrictions, they can't be shipped with certain courier than to research every single destination in the world and list only the possible shipping options for each. Shipping restrictions are rare though. As for USPS, I believe there's an embargo on between the US and Iran/Iraq? so some couriers don't want to/can't deliver there. USPS also does have size restrictions for shipments overseas.

It should be on the USPS' site. They measure in girth I believe.
