I am looking for opinions. My main camera Body is a 50D. I also have the 450D. I have these lens .... 50MM 1.8F , 10-22 , 24-70, 24-105, 70-200 F4 IS .
I shoot mainly Fashion and Glamour (outdoor, indoor and studio) images. What would be the best lens to get next to compliment what I have?
I am guessing a prime. I have some pretty big shoots coming up and will be shooting anything from beaches, waterfall, pools and suite (bedroom) shots. As far as studio space I have limited space there also. If I go full frame it will probably be a year from now. Maybe I should sell one of the lens to help off set the cost of another L glass.
I will have around a grand to spend.

Thanks for any input...

Always looking forward to my next shoot.

Where do you feel your line up is lacking?

If I was going to throw something out there maybe replace your 50mm 1.8 with a 1.4 (I think the 1.2 is over your budget). Or maybe a 85 1.8, love mine for just about everything and my go to lens for low light.

Personally, I would add a 35L.

But that's just me.

Thanks... I was pointing towards a short prime and the 35L on a crop body might be be ticket . Not sure how short I really want in a priome though. It would be nice to shoot Models in small rooms, but I get the impression the longer primes might give better bokeh, which would give me great outdoor shots.
The 10-22 is my newest lens which is a great lens and will probably take care of any of the indoor problems I have had in the past.
The cheap 50MM 1.8 II does surprisingly nice shots but I can't always back up far enough.
I know I will end up with 3 different primes just wasn't sure where to start.

Take your 24-70 and put it at the lengths 24, 35, 50 from Canon. See which length you like best and go from there.

Do the same with your 70-200mm at 85, 100, & 135 if you're contemplating longer primes....but it sounds like you might be looking for something in the 24-50 range.

Sell either your 24-70 or 24-105 and grab a good prime. Unless you have specific jobs for both of them lenses and use them frequently enough, i don't see the point in having both of them. If you shoot mainly fashion, i reckon the 85L or 135L.

If you are interested in macrophotography, then you may consider the Canon 100mm "macro" f/2.8 lens to complete your lineup. It is a great lens! Good for portraits too...

Sell the 10-22 and get a 5D or 5D MK II.

i agree...

When it comes to wide primes a FF body is the only thing that really does them justice...

Ideally (if it were me) I would sell the 450D, 10-22 & maybe even one of your 24-X zooms, then get a 5D & 35L. Fwiw, I shoot a 5D & 50D. You can check out my gear by clicking on the first link in my sig...
