ok chaps im looking at buying a flash for my canon 400d

i mainly take car snaps and fancy getting a flash for some different shots etc.

so my questions are.

i dont want to spend much over £100
it needs to be able to use a remote trigger and go on a tri pod.
also i may buy a 2nd flash so the 2 would need to be able to work together but thats not happening for a while.

can you please help

I have a 430EX and it works well. I use it off camera with either an optical or radio trigger. I don't know about the price in the UK. In the US it is ~$240.

Lots of existing threads on this topic already. Are you going to be using the flash on camera as well as off and do you want ettl? that will drive your decision.

The main thing that will drive the decision is the statement:
"i dont want to spend much over £100"

In that price range, you are looking to purchase used equipment or cheap equipment that you will throw away in a year or so. Maybe you can snag something at a garage sale? Other than that, ....

Sorry I can't help you.

Yea, you get what you pay for. Maybe a vivitar flash with some cactus triggers. Maybe. If I were you, I'd save up more and invest in a nice flash and some cyber syncs (assuming you don't care for ettl). Canon's new speedlite, I think the 270? It's suppose to be inexpensive. Not exactly sure.

off camera go with the vivitar 285hv's. powerful, durable, and simple, works with pretty much any accessory you can think of. I've had a pair for over 20 years.
