http://www.onsale.com …ge=true&q=canon+lp-e6&rch (external link)=

I have always thought that $100 for the lp-e6 was a ripoff. One of the other members posted this a few days ago, and for $65, I ordered one immediately. The site says out of stock presently, so I might have gotten one of the last before the deluge from others here.

But I'd keep an eye open for the restock. It's a real bargain. Hope it's not a knockoff, but they list the correct Canon part number.

Sorry Suzy, I know how you feel! I realized I needed a third on a trip where I was away from a charger for about ten hours and with flash, went through the first battery and started on a second. I like to be prepared and thought it wouldn't hurt to have another backup.

I paid the $90 for each, though.

Just a heads up for those with a 5D MkII, Diamondback is listing the Canon Equivalent LP-E6 Battery for $19.99 ( www.diamondbackbatt.com/canonequivalentlp-e6battery-2.aspx (external link)). SterlingTek is not listing one as of yet.

Gear: A bunch of Canon stuff and a bunch of old Olympus 35 mm stuff (OM-1, OM-2, etc).

Wow, works with the original charger! The website doesn't mention if the camera will show the battery meter for this one though. Anyone knows the answer?

BE CAREFUL.......batteries are a MAJOR counterfeited item. Watches, DVD's, and Batteries. Buyer beware where you buy a battery from.

The onsale.com battery is the original. Hologram is authentic as is packaging and instructions. Registers in the camera normally.

A counterfeit battery would be marked "Canon."

My order of the "Canon Equivalent LP-E6 Replacement Battery" from Diamondback has arrived. When I tried to charge it with the original charger, the light on the charger wont lights up like it does when it charges the original Canon LP-E6. I stopped proceeding in afraid of damaging the charger. On the other hand, if the light wont light up, how would I know when the battery is fully charged? I'm sending email to Diamondback with these questions. Will report back.
