I'll let you know soon. Just asked a friend of mine in Korea to pick one up for me. (Photo Clam PC-30N)

I searched the forum to no avail: so did you post a review about the Photo Clam PC-30N?

Whoops i forgot about this thread

Well i purchased mine on Ebay from dc-stuffs, very happy with the service and shipping time to Australia
Previously i have had a cheapo sony tripod a Gitzo older model heavy and not really great for travel, as i wanted a tripod small and light i choose the Travel angel tripod, and after doing a bit of research i choose the BENRO A-268 M8 B-1 Aluminium, wanting to support the 70-200 2.8 i choose the B1 Head holds a bit more

anyway as im not much of a writer ill post some pics.

Conclusion.

I have been using this tripod for the last 3 months and i am very happy with it, i will take it with me when never used to take a tripod before as its so small and light (compared to larger style) i have had no problems with it supporting the 70-200 i think anything bigger might be a issue. couldn't recommend it enough as a travel solution and alternative to a larger tripod

Also mine came with spiked feet and a tool kit (Alan key etc.)

You can and you can even remount it upside down. I'm not sure how you'd mount anything to it if you left the column off though.

Regards,

Roger

Thanks, I really appreciate the pics--I specifically went with the B-0 ballhead, because I thought the B-1 would be too big/wide... but it looks like it fits just fine and isn't much better than the B-0. I may have to consider an upgrade...

That must take some additional dissection or force, because I wasn't able to remove the center column on mine... I really don't know why you'd want to, either...

The center hook plate on the post must be unscrewed and the tightening collar loosened all of the way. No additional force needed. With the column reversed one can really get up close and personal with macro subjects from overhead.

Thanks, I'll have to give that a try.

I'll take this opportunity to upload a B-x ballhead spec comparison--for anyone else who was wondering how they differ. It's a handy little chart I found from a seller over on ebay.:

Just wanted to comment on the B1 ballhead combination that you have--it may fit for your model, but it definitely doesn't match well with the model reviewed by the OP. The B1 is slightly too large (or rather, wide) to fold up and be stored in the benro case. The B0 on the other hand, fits just fine.
