I use it.

The main plugs I use somewhat regularly, are Noise Ninja and Hydra HDR.

I have Silver EFX and the Tiffen DFX suite as well... don't use them very much though.

I learned by just playing around with it. Apple has a bunch of very good tutorial videos available here: http://www.apple.com/aperture/tutorials/ (external link)

Aperture has built-in watermarking capability... just create your watermark in a graphics program and then bring it into Aperture.

Here's a good tutorial for watermarks: http://www.kremalicious.com …watermarks-with-aperture/ (external link)

Well, do you have Pages? There are tons of cheaper/free graphics programs out there, that you can design your stuff in. Then bring that into Aperture. Doing this native inside Aperture is much nicer, believe me. You also have the control.

But, since the plugin you listed is free, why don't you just try it out?

You can't go wrong with BorderFX, its free and allows you to save your presets so when you go to use it again its there and works. You can use BorderFX to create simple boarders and single line text like these:

Here is a link to most of the plugins for Aperture: http://www.apple.com …re/resources/plugins.html (external link)
I have the NIK software, but only use Viveza and Silver Efex Pro. I use the Aperture to Zenfolio export - this way my images go directly from Aperture to my website, no in betweens. I also like BorderFX for creating border in my e-mail images or online images that I show here or elsewhere.
