Not sure if anyone else has been watching these. I've wanted one for a while and they have been $259 pretty much across the board. Today, Beach Camera has them for $229. That's the price that the "Essential" model normally sells for. The "Home" version adds Firewire and eSATA. Just thought others might be interested. Great backup drive. I have a 500 GB for media and a 1TB for Time Machine on my iMac. This 2TB will now be my Time Machine and I can use the 1TB for an "off site" backup. I've never had any trouble with the 500 or the 1TB.

I've been watching the Western Digital 2TB My Book Studio Edition II Quad Interface External Hard Drive, and it seems to have just dropped in price at BH by $30.

Seems deals on the 2TB's aren't that common yet.

The Home edition's are gone from Beach as of 2:40 ET. Doesn't even show up on their page anymore. Don't know if anyone else took advantage.

Go with a Seagate ?TB HD. Even if you have to use a cable to make it external, DO IT! WD are not reliable.

Hmmm. I've had the complete opposite experience with Western Digital being far better drives & service. Latest being the Seagate 1.5TB freeze/hang up firmware problem. Guess all drives have some issues given a large enough install base.
