I've had the pleasure of knowing Alison for years, she's a great friend and an amazing photographer. She just published photos from a wedding she flew to Ireland to shoot and I'm so moved I wanted to share.

Just wanted to share. If you were thinking of getting into weddings, this is what you should hope to aspire to.

Absolutely amazing work!!

nice link!

not perfect but not bad at all!

I think on just a few photos she needs to watch the hands... like with te guys in the field. they look awkward also the guys hands in a lot is by his side when they could be on the bride.... great stuff though

Very Nice !!

This series are filled with a "lot" of nice tips..... I believe she is using a prime 85mm 1.4 for most of close and central focus shots (beautiful lens for that).

Two cameras (two people) for church photos, one floor level and the other one up level.

Big f/ (maybe 18 or 22) for outdoor sky shots, great DOF and detail.

Not afraid of getting a little grainy indoor photos to capture the moment.

Seems to use a very fine and little fill flash.

Very nice job!!!!! Congratulations

Call me old fashioned but if when my girls get married they get this sort of album I will go ballistic,to my mind they are just up market snapshots and show no skill from the photographer in posing the bride to look her best on her wedding day

OK now shoot me down in f;lames

i had to find this thread to recommend this photographer to someone local. i was reading through the posts again and saw your comment.

kind of funny you thought you were going to go down in flames but you actually just killed the thread. :)

anyway, the photographer cant spend the entire day posing a bride and groom as they need to enjoy their wedding day. so the photographer needs to be able to capture the candid moments and tell a story and alison always does that.

obviously, different strokes for different folks, but i love her work.
