Okay, I have a 5dm2 and a 24-70mm and nifty fifty. I only take pics of my family and children, nothing else. What lens to you think I should buy now? I really would like to stick with Canon lenses but I have been looking at the Tamron 75-300mm because it is so cheap. Thanks for any advice, I appreciate it.

I would go with a Canon 85mm f/1.2L. The Canon 70-200mm f/2.8L IS would be next on the list.

Take Care,
Cheers, Patrick

Buyimg a lens just because its cheap is not a good reason to purchase. What are you lacking with your present setup? What kind of pictures would you like to take that you can't take now?

It would help to know if there was some picture that you were trying to create that your current lenses could not. For example, do you want more reach?

That's what I was trying to say...

Budget is a big deal.

Also ... why do you want a Tamron 75-300 just because it is cheap?
Then why do you want that lens to go on a 5D Mark II?

You could always save a little longer to get something like the 70-200 f/2.8 non-IS or f/4 IS. Or get a 85 f/1.8 prime. All in all depends on budget.

Thanks, I am going to go with the cheap 85mm. I would really like the 70-200 but will def. have to save for it, maybe Christmas.

Flash :)

I'd much rather shoot a properly lit (by flash) image at ISO100 f/2.8 than one with "natural" (which usually means cr*ppy) lighting and ISO3200 f/1.8 :)
