So,
I'm getting all kinds of stoked for tomorrow's Drum & Bugle Corps show at West Chester University tomorrow and then up to Allentown for DCI East regionals. I managed to get media passes for both of them -- in my situation, I normally would've been denied (I teach digital photography and photoshop at a college), but it just so happens that the person who approves the media requests was my old Corps director back in the 90's, hah!
So, I'm charging up my batteries and formatting my CF cards. Taking my 50D with a 70-200 f/2.8L IS with a 1.4x teleconverter and polarizer and my Rebel XSi with a Sigma 10-20... Even took the day off tomorrow to head up early and catch some of the corps rehearsing and get in a bit of "practice" of my own; this will be my first time shooting the sport.
If anyone's interested in what exactly it is I'm talking about, here's a little sample: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bk-HzmIXouw&fmt=18![]()
Lots of opportunities for cool geometric photographs...
