This past Sunday I was able to borrow a 2x tele-extender for a few hours. Well, I fell in love with it, ordered one first thing Monday morning, and today it arrived. The loaner wasn't compatable with my 1.4 II because it was an older non-"II" version, but this one is! Behold my 680mm f 5.6 backyard bunny! He's about 50 to 60 ft away.

No cropping, just resized for posting.

So it's EOS 40D / 1.4x II / 2.0 x II / 70 - 200mm 2.8 IS L .

Autofocus works fine, but it does 'hunt' some. Plenty fast though.

This is gonna be fun. :D

My pictures: John Wilke Photography (external link), Flikr (external link) , Facebook (external link), Fine Arts America (external link), Canon 1D MkII N, 1D MkIII, various Canon and Tokina lenses. :D
