tripod head for interior design

I have an assignment coming up to shoot a commercial furniture installation. I tried to do a search to find the perfect head, but haven't found anything.

I like the 488RC2, but don't think it will work very well for my needs. I worry that the adjustments aren't very precise and it will be tough to level. I can't use a hot shoe bubble level as that is where I have my flash controller mounted.

I would like the head to have some versatility so that I can also use it for portraits. So, I don't really want a panorama head as these seem pretty specialized for just that purpose. It also needs to be strong enough for a 40D with grip, 70-200 f/2.8IS, and a flash.

So, any recommendations would be great. My budget for the head is right around $100, maybe a little more.

I find more my purposes a ballhead is MORE precise than a 3-way head because I can move it any way I want and then lock it down.

If that won't work for you, then how about a 3-way head? They're cheaper than ballheads usually anyways. I think the popular Manfrotto model is 804CR2.
