I did a vampire shoot a few weeks ago. We started at 9am and finished at about 1pm, perfectly sunny day. The only equipment I had available was my 40D and a 580ex II and a 430ex with Cybersyncs to trigger them. Instead of posting photos here, hopefully you will not mind visiting my smugmug account here:

Looking back, I think I could have done better if I had bounced the light off some umbrellas and if I had used a reflector to diffuse some of the sunlight in spots.

Comments and how to do better would be very appreciated!

Thanks!
James

Thanks! The models were awesome - it was in the mid 90's temp wise by 11am and they were wearing leather pants or a leather corsette. The skin is 90% post processing. The vamp actually had quite a tan and the victim was extremely pale, compared to the other. It was tough to get the vampire to look a little "dead" but very easy to do the same to the victim once she was turned. She was so white I almost didn't have to do a thing. LOL!

Canada? In the 90's?? The world must be flipping upside down. This is one of the coolest July's (and one of the wettest) we have ever had. Today's high won't hit 90. We should be in the high 90's from here through August with heat index in the triple digits.

The models were troopers - we shot the running scene many many times and they never complained. Timing the lighting and hitting their marks all at the same time was hard to nail, but we eventually got some good shots. My wife made all the fake blood from recipes she found on the Internet. It looked good and didn't taste too bad either.

Sunlight? How'd you keeping them from bursting into flames?

Great shots, very convincing Vampires!

Duh - haven't you seen twilight? I wanted to shoot much later in the evening but the cemetery closes at 4:30. It doesn't get dark until after 8. So... we did the best we could.

Beautiful shots, great editing on the eyes.

Vampires in broad daylight is a little odd though.
