I like that it is f/2.8 but hmm I'm not sure if I'll wanna be limited to that narrow range...decision decisions.

you won't really be too limited though...because as you said you're getting the 17-55mm...so you'll be covered anyways

i think for my 10-20mm uses it might as well be a 10mm prime...i think 95% of my shots are at 10mm

i think if i was spending as much on the canon i'd go for the tokina...but i went budget friendly sigma instead:)

The mileage on the speedometer in my car stopped working at 30028.

Do you think it's trying to tell me something..?!!

time to get a better car?...30,000 miles isn't much:lol:

better yet...do cash for clunkers...and pretend that you didn't save the 4500, and use that for the 300mm 2.8 you're destined for

I am gonna run that by the wifey tonight. Let's see how she reacts.

BTW, "destined for" sounds so much better than " I really want that lens". Do you think I should use that when I talk to her?

well since you have a 17-55 coming the 17-22 part of the range you already have covered. I rented both first and discovered I was always using the wide end. the 2.8 made me choose the Tokina. They are both nice lenses.

True, I can imagine myself using the wide end of that focal length range anyway.

I gotta figure out the 17-55 situation first :D

The question really is whether you do see 17:55 on your clock or cell phone often when you pull it out ... :D

Personally, I don't have these problems anymore, at least not now, what with zooms that don't fit in the time system, or primes :D.

Kind regards, Wim ;)
