I may develop an arrhythmia from looking at all the L glass publicity photos. Canon should try making an EF 100/1.4L with a 77mm front filter diameter. The front coatings are designed to work across the entire visible light spectrum to supress glare and reflection and so on, but you only 'see' the top coating, and the order the coatings are applied is determined by the lens elements, design, focal length etc. As a result the front coating colour varies. Like I said, there was a decent explanation for it, but I can't remember where or exactly what it was.

lol it does hit hard and fast. The problem is you can't just buy an L zoom and go back to a lesser lens for wide angle. You become spoiled and need good stuff for every focal length you intend to shoot.
