Hi guys,
Does anyone know of a free program that shows exif data.

It needs to be able to let me copy and paste all of the data so I can drop it into posts with my pics.

Thanks very much

Ian

Ok, that seems to work very well so now i'm going to see if I can get any mor out of free exif programs.

I've got a 450D and am looking through images taken with one BUT what i'd really love to know, is what lens was used. Not a lot of contributers state this so is there a program that would also give this information?

Thanks in advance once again :)

I reformatted my HD not long ago and lost Opanda Exif viewer - as well as everything else of course.
Just looked at Opanda site and saw this message:

"(Be sure that you have been installed Mozilla Firefox browser and Opanda IExif before installing the Firefox extension.)"

I use Firefox, but really don't understand what the "Firefox extension" is.
Anyone know? Thanks.

It's the add-on that makes Opanda work in the Firefox browser. Every add-on you have is an extension.

Simplest solution: Just don't get rid of exif from the image.

That saves you time, and you can get feedback from the people who actually know what they are doing rather than every random person who sees f11 and tells you your problem is diffraction.

And if you need to satisfy your own curiosity, just install the programs that came with your camera. they will show you all the relevant exif.

I don't hate macs or OSX, I hate people and statements that portray them as better than anything else. Macs are A solution, not THE solution. Get a good desktop i7 with Windows 7 and come tell me that sucks for photo or video editing.

Cheers for that basroil. The other reason I was looking for a program was to see what settings others used in the shots they put up in the various galleries. It's helpful to me so want to be able to see it.

To anyone else, is there something out there I can use to view others settings AND to see the lens they used?

Thanks

Exiftool is a very powerful app with a lot of functions.

Once downloaded you can just drag a file or folder on top of it to list or change (or delete) all the exif info.

http://www.sno.phy.queensu.ca/~phil/exiftool/index.html (external link)

once downloaded just rename it to whatever command or commands you want.

eg:

rename to exiftool(-ALL=) will delete ALL the Exif info in any file or folder.

DO NOT DO THIS TO RAW FILES without copying them first as they then become unviewable.

And exiftool(-k) will list all the Exif Data for a file or all files in a folder.

Use Opera.

Why use a non-colour managed browser like Opera?
Use Firefox 3.0 (not 3.5 as is doesn't support ICC v4) or Safari ;)
