Hello everyone, newly arrived to the forum as I was searching through google for any informations I could get to learn on how to use my new camera.

In fact, I was really desperate! I've taken a few pictures last night and today. I've uploaded them on flickr, please feel free to comment on how I could have improved those shots.

So far I've been toying with the different type of shots available but there are a lot of things i don't quite understand.

Perhaps there is a thread on the forum which is newbie friendly for the powershot sx10?

Actually, I've just read ben's newbie guide which was very informative and helped me understand what aperture is as well as ISO.

Welcome to the forum! :-)

You are in the right place for learning all about photography. Just keep reading and asking on here, and soon enough you'll be well on your way to producing some great photographs.

You're off to a good start already. I like 0095 and 0217 in your Flickr photostream.

Mike

Welcome to POTN. This is a great place to hang out.

Your images are much better than expected from a beginner. Great job.

I particularly like 0219 and 0095.
